2026 Potentate

Illustrious Sir Richard A. Aldridge

(and First Lady Susan)

It is a true honor to serve as your Potentate for 2026. The journey that Susan and I have shared through the Divan has been deeply rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent you. I cherish every chance to visit our clubs and units, enjoying the fellowship and meeting dedicated Nobles from around the world.

In 2007, I participated in a Shriners Hospitals golf tournament that changed my life. There, I met a young boy whose life had been forever altered by a kitchen accident. His mother told me how, after their insurance ran out, Shriners Hospital stepped in—providing care, transportation, and support at no cost. Her gratitude and relief were unforgettable. That encounter inspired me to become a Shriner, a decision symbolized by the golf ball on my pin. If not for that meeting, I might never have joined this incredible fraternity.

This year’s theme, “FORE Fellowship, Family, and Fun,” draws from golf, reminding us to stay alert and engaged. Fellowship, family, and fun have always been at the heart of our Shrine experience, and I look forward to celebrating these values together. We will continue our cherished traditions and introduce exciting new events, including a BBQ Cookoff and the return of Steak ‘n’ Stogie night. I invite you all to join in the fellowship, family, and fun that define our Shrine.
