Brad Smith

On February 19, 2026, at the Washington Shrine Club Potentate Visitation, Brad Smith was recognized for his service by Club President Scott Mullen.

Scott stated: “It is my honor to nominate Brad Smith for a Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his extraordinary dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Washington Shrine Club and the greater Shriner organization.

Brad has been a longstanding and devoted member of the Washington Shrine Club, exemplifying the values of service and fellowship that define our mission. Over the years, he has served with distinction as both Club President and Tabloid Chairman, leaving a lasting impact on the organization and its members. During his presidency, Brad achieved a remarkable 21-year run as the top donation contributor to the Washington Shrine Club Tabloid, demonstrating not only his leadership but also his deep personal commitment to supporting the club’s charitable efforts.

Even after completing his term as president, Brad’s service never slowed. He continued to give back by serving again as Tabloid Chairman and by assisting with weekly donation collections at local Flagway stations. His willingness to remain actively involved speaks volumes about his character and his genuine passion for the organization’s success.

Beyond his leadership roles, Brad is always among the first to volunteer for club events. He consistently donates his time, energy, and even his personal DJ equipment to help make our fundraising events engaging and successful. A recent example perfectly captures Brad’s dedication: when a snowstorm forced our scheduled band to cancel for the Shrine Christmas Party, Brad stepped in at the last minute. Despite being ill himself, he brought his DJ equipment and provided the entertainment for the evening, ensuring that the event was a memorable success for everyone in attendance.

Brad Smith’s selfless service, reliability, and enthusiasm have strengthened the Washington Shrine Club and inspired countless members. His decades of contributions, leadership, and willingness to go above and beyond truly embody the spirit of meritorious service. It is without hesitation and with the highest respect that I recommend Brad Smith for this well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations, Brad!
